It's All In The Edit

 
So many blogs that cover the non-linear world of editing revolve around the technical/gear side of the process, rarely delving into what actually makes an edit work. Go to my other blog, this savage art... for info on a recently released DVD of the film Keane by writer/director Lodge Kerrigan. The DVD offers up his theatrical cut and Steven Soderbergh's producer/ghost editor cut. A good way to see how the nuances and meaning of the film can be altered depending on who is doing the cutting.
